I contacted a company in San Antonio on 2 occasions to follow up and see if I could get some of this tea. I have yet to receive a return call. So rather than send you on a wild tea chase, lets see if they finally find me or I find another supplier.

Hi Aron, have you found another supplier for the Dibepan Tea. I contacted the San Antonio, TX supplier who was out, but waiting on a shipment from Mexico. I was told the cost of the Dibepan Tea was $49.90 for a box of 90 tea bags. The lady there also told me she had 900 customers for the Dibepan Tea. Please write and let me know if you have found another supplier, Thanks.

For those reading this message. I just got back from Mexico City where the Dibepan tea is made. I am related to the makers of the original Dibepan tea. I was only able to bring a box of tea because of importing procedures. I have a box available with me. I am located in Michigan and guarantee you this is the original Dibepan. I will list this on ebay soon. just type dibepan on search and you will find it.

    JOSIE Says:

Dibepan is made from Guazuma ulmifolia, OR MUTAMBA AS IT IS COMMONLY KNOWN. INSTEAD OF PAYING $49.00 FOR 90 PACKETS YOU CAN PAY $26.00 FOR 1LB OF THE MUTAMBA POWDER WHICH IS THE SAME THING, PROBABLY IN A PURER FORM. jUST BUY SOME TEABAGS OR GET A TEA INFUSER. RAIN_TREE.COM HAS THE POWDER SOLD IN BULK FORM.

What about the purity of the Dibepan tea coming from Mexico? Can anyone knowledgeable shed more light on this? From what I understand, Mexico does not have the quality regulations as here in the U.S. Can we know for sure the Dibepan tea is without poisons or chemicals from the soil where grown? Excited about the tea, but want confidence in brewing & drinking it that it’s totally pure.

The dibepan Tea is exposed into radiation before it is export to USA just to make sure there is not contaminated.
And it is check by FDA.

I researched Rain_Tree.com and mutamba powder per Josie’s post. Here is the URL to the page about mutamba: http://www.rain-tree.com/mutamba-powder.htm
It also had a reference to a study on the effects of plants as antidiabetic agents. I am not sure if the mutamba powder is actually similar enough to be a replacement for the (admittedly high-priced) dibepan tea product. Mutamba powder is only made from the bark of the plant whereas the tea product is – IIRC – made from leaves and roots as well. I have no doubt that Mr. Lara will say his product is superior but I would like to hear from someone who has used both.
